The company was formerly the John Holt Line, established in the late 1800s, and Guinea Gulf Line from 1954. |

In 1965 Guinea Gulf Line became part of Elder Dempster Lines. The four ships of the company were sold as,
being steam turbine, they did not fit into the all-motor Elder Dempster fleet.

These details are an overview of Guinea Gulf Line in the mid 1960s, together with a note of two later vessels. It is not intended to be a definitive list, but rather an indication of the size and variety of the fleet and the names and classes of the ships.
The tonnages given are deadweight. The actual figures varied even between ships of the same class so there has been some rounding up/down to ensure clarity in the table.
